Convention Dates- why, and which to choose!

I’m a lover of getting mentally lost at conventions. A bit of time to escape the real world and indulge my nerdy side. Whether it’s gaming, cosplay or horror conventions, I just love to go and immerse myself in the whole experience.

I’ve been to a fair few over the years and they’ve been some of my absolute favorite dates, from board game conventions to horror cons, film festivals and more. And as we get closer, I’ve become more and more excited for upcoming dates of various events!

I love spending entire weekends with someone special, taking it all in, sharing the fun together and creating memories that will last us a lifetime. After a few requests from suitors asking about the details of convention weekends, I decided to put together a three part series in which I highlight the convention calendar around the world as well as the top events around the world for gaming, horror and cosplay.

I’ll start this post with details of the types of conventions that are around, things to consider about booking a weekender with me for the event and important dates and locations to note. I’m excited and hope we can share the fun of one together soon.

So Elle, what does a convention date with you look like?

That depends on a few factors, but as a general guide, here’s what it could look like! We’d meet the day before usually in the late afternoon/early evening and go for a meal together, catch up and get to know one another (unless we are already good friends).

The next day we’d have breakfast together before going to day 1 of the convention, finding out feet and wandering around the venue hand in hand, taking selfies, figuring out which speakers we want to see later, and of course, having a blast! A short break for lunch then back to it, picking up souvenirs to take home to remember this date with each other and maybe seeing a live panel or two.

A nice dinner ensues, giving us a chance to either glam up or keep it casual, back to our hotel and a bubble bath for two to relax with a glass or two of champagne. Bright and early the next morning we head back for day 2, once again losing ourselves in everything fun, catching anything we may have missed the day before or trying again the things we loved whilst acting like teenagers and enjoying each other’s company, taking more silly selfies together and giggling our way around. We have a romantic dinner for two on our final night before saying our goodbyes on the Sunday morning.

How much will a convention date cost?

Again this varies, it depends on where in the world we are going, whether I have to fly/travel, how long you want to spend at the convention, and many other factors that are taken into consideration. The best thing to do is reach out to my assistant for further details at esassistant@protonmail.com. If you want to get a better idea of FMTY dates as a whole and how that works, I have an in-depth FMTY 101 post you can read!

What if I don’t want to go to a whole convention together- could you join me for just one day of the con?

A. Absolutely!

Would you be willing to go to another type of convention or just horror, gaming or cosplay?

There are many types out there and I would always be open to visiting them, just reach out and ask!

Can you plan the whole date out for me?

Absolutely! I love nothing more than preparing an itinerary for us to enjoy. Please just reach out and myself and Sam will do the rest!

More to come with lists of my favorite horror, film and miscellaneous conventions to attend, but for now:

Reach out to discuss further, I’d love to share one or more of these experiences with you
